A Boeing (BA) 747 jumbo jet made a minor mistake by landing at the wrong airport on Wednesday evening.
The Associated Press reports that the plane was supposed to land at the McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas but accidentally landed on an airport about 8 miles north of it. The jet was supposed to land at the base to deliver new parts for a Boeing 787 Dreamliner but instead landed at the significantly smaller Col. James Jabara airport.
The airport’s runway is only 6,101 feet long which is relatively small for a jumbo jet. Nevertheless, the company has confirmed that the plane will be able to take off at around noon on Thursday and make its way to the Air Force base.
