BP Pumps it Up: 18 Companies Increasing Dividends

Companies Increasing Dividends[1]Another big week of earnings releases bumped up dividends, led by oil giant BP (BP[2]). Skin care manufacturer Estee Lauder (EL[3]) represented the retail sector with a nice dividend raise, while two major real estate investment trusts, including Public Storage (PSA[4]) also found their way to increases.

A total of eighteen companies made it onto our Companies Increasing Dividends[5] list for the week. (Note: All yields are as of Nov. 1).

Integrated oil and gas producer and distributor BP (BP[2]) raised its quarterly dividend 5.6% to 9.5 cents per share. A payout and ex-dividend date for the distribution have yet to be announced.
BP Dividend Yield: 0.8%

Gaming, pari-mutuel horse racing, and casino operator Churchill Downs (CHDN[6]) raised its annual dividend 21% to 87 cents per share, payable on Jan. 6, 2014 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 6, 2013.
CHDN Dividend Yield: 1.03%

Medical technology products manufacturer Conmed (CNMD[7]) raised its quarterly dividend 33% to 20 cents per share, payable on Jan. 6, 2014 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 16, 2013.
CNMD Dividend Yield: 2.22%

Joplin, Miss.-based public utility Empire District Electric (EDE[8]) raised its quarterly dividend 2% to 25.5 cents per share, payable on Dec. 16 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 2.
EDE Dividend Yield: 4.55%

Skin care and beauty cosmetics manufacturer and marketer Estee Lauder (EL[3]) raised its quarterly dividend 11% to 20 cents per share, payable on Dec. 16 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 29.
EL Dividend Yield: 1.14%

Ship builder Huntington Ingalls (HII[9]) raised its quarterly dividend 100% to 20 cents per share, payable on Dec. 13 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 29.
HII Dividend Yield: 1.12%

Mineral-based specialty products manufacturer Innophos (IPHS[10]) raised its quarterly dividend 14% to 40 cents per share, payable on Nov. 29 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 15.
IPHS Dividend Yield: 3.20%

Full service bank and asset management company JMP Group (JMP[11]) raised its quarterly dividend 14% to 4 cents per share, payable on Nov. 29 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 15.
JMP Dividend Yield: 2.50%

Neighborhood and community shopping center real estate investment trust Kimco (KIM[12]) raised its quarterly dividend 7.1% to 22.5 cents per share, payable on Jan. 2, 2014 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 30, 2013.
KIM Dividend Yield: 4.18%

Regional mall operator and real estate investment trust General Growth Properties (GGP[13]) raised its quarterly dividend 8% to 14 cents per share, payable on Jan. 2, 2014 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 13, 2013.
GGP Dividend Yield: 2.61%

Welding, cutting and brazing products manufacturer Lincoln Electric (LECO[14]) raised its quarterly dividend 15% to 23 cents per share, payable on Jan. 15, 2013 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 31, 2013.
LECO Dividend Yield: 1.30%

Automobile insurance holding company Mercury General (MCY[15]) increased its dividend 0.4% to 61.50 cents per share, payable on Dec. 26 to shareholders of record Dec. 12.
MCY Dividend Yield: 5.29%

Norwich, New York-based financial holding company NBT Bancorp (NBTB[16]) raised its quarterly dividend 5% to 21 cents per share, payable on Dec. 15 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 1.
NBTB Dividend Yield: 3.48%

Self-storage real estate investment trust Public Storage (PSA[4]) raised its quarterly dividend 12% to $1.40 per share, payable on Dec. 30 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 13.
PSA Dividend Yield: 3.33%

Pharmaceuticals research and educational software developer Simulations Plus (SLP[17]) raised its quarterly dividend 100% to 4 cents per share, payable on Nov. 15 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 8.
SLP Dividend Yield: 3.04%

Industrial goods and products manufacturer Standex (SXI[18]) raised its quarterly dividend 25% to 10 cents per share, payable on Nov. 25 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 11.
SXI Dividend Yield: 0.66%

Securities and brokerage services company TD Ameritrade (AMTD[19]) raised its quarterly dividend 33% to 12 cents per share, payable on Nov. 19 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 7. AMTD also declared a special dividend of 50 cents per share, payable on Dec. 17 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 3.
AMTD Dividend Yield: 1.74%

Honolulu, Hawaii-based federally chartered bank Territorial Bancorp (TBNK[20]) raised its quarterly dividend 7.6% to 14 cents per share, payable on Nov. 27 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 14.
TBNK Dividend Yield: 2.55%
