On Thursday, Consumer Reports said that Tesla’s Model S luxury electric car had received the highest owner satisfaction score of any other vehicle in its survey and the highest score of any vehicle in a number of years. The Model S garnered a score of 99 out of a possible 100, CNN Money notes.
The Model S was named Motor Trends’ “Car of the Year” for 2013.
Tesla has seen its stock price stumble in recent weeks after reports of three Model S fires in the U.S. and Mexico. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
Federal regulators have launched a probe of the vehicle. Tesla insists that its electric cars are less prone to fires compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
Shares of Tesla rose more than 1% in Thursday morning trading.
