Girls! Startup Toymaker GoldieBlox Breaks Out With Viral Video

GoldieBlox, a toymaker that got its start on Kickstarter, has released a viral video[1] set to an altered version of  Beastie Boys’ Girls.

The video features girls who are bored of playing with the same old toys and instead set off a Rube Goldberg machine. The girls then run around the house as the Beastie Boys’ song, which has been altered to be an anthem for little girls, plays and the machine sets off a series of events. The video is meant to advertise GoldieBlox toys and show girls that they don’t have to play with pink princess toys. The Rube Goldberg machine was created by Brett Doar, who created the Rube Goldberg machine for OK Go’s This Too Shall Pass video, reports The Los Angeles Times.

The GoldieBlox video featuring the Rube Goldberg machine was posted to YouTube on Nov. 17[2] and already has over 6 million views. Watch the video below.
