The scene show investigators standing around what appears to be the body of Kevin Barrera, who was shot and killed in 2009. Jose Barrera, Kevin’s father, has contacted Google about the image and has asked the company to take it down. Google says that it doesn’t normally accelerate the rate at which it updates its map images, but that this is a special case. Google plans to remove the image of Kevin and have it replaced with a new one in a little over a week’s time, reports the Associated Press.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Barrera is disappointed that Google let this happen and he hope hat the company will be more careful in the future. He also plans to take this time to remind police about his son’s murder, which has yet to be solved.
