Fans of the Hunger Games movies could soon have a real world destination to visit.
During a Friday conference call, the CEO of Lionsgate (LGF), which is gearing up for the release of the next installment in the franchise, told journalists that his company had been approached about launching a Hunger Games theme park, the Hollywood Reporter noted.
Jon Feltheimer said that Lionsgate had received offers “in two different territories” about possible theme parks.
The first movie in the series — based on the bestselling young adult novels by Suzanne Collins — was a box office success. The second movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which cost a reported $130 million to make, hits the big screen on Nov. 22.
A third and fourth film are currently in production.
Shares of Lionsgate fell almost 1% in Monday morning trading.
