LG is getting a lot of attention after IT blogger Jason Huntley accused the company of invading the privacy of its smart TV users.
The world’s second-largest TV producer said that it is investigating claims that its smart TVs have been sending information on its users back to the company, according to The Associated Press. LG smart TVs have a feature that monitors people’s activities in order to let advertisers reach their target audiences. Huntley said that the company is collecting information from its users without consent even after he disables the feature that allows the company to do so.
LG responded to Huntley’s claim in an email, saying that users accept the terms and conditions on their TVs and they should voice any concerns to the retailer.
