A Connecticut man returned $98,000 that he found hidden in a desk he purchased on Craigslist.
Rabbi Noah Muroff, who teaches at a private Jewish high school, found the money while moving the desk into his office. Muroff found the money while dissembling the desk, which was too large to fit in through the door. He then saw a plastic bag stuffed behind one of the desk’s drawers. After pulling the bag out, Muroff found that it was filled with money. Muroff and his wife returned the money to the woman they purchased the desk from the next day. The woman said that the money was an inheritance that she had lost, reports The New York Daily News.
The woman that sold the desk to Muroff, wrote a note to the family saying that “I do not think there are too many people in this world that would have done what you did by calling me.”
