The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has rated the 31 new booster seat models released in 2013 and Consumer Reports has collected a list of the ratings.
The IIHS has rated 19 of the 31 new models of booster seats as being the ones with the “best potential of correctly positioning a vehicle’s seat belt on a child in a variety of vehicle types.” The ratings are based off of how well the booster seats position the lap and shoulder belt over a child. The ratings do not reflect how well the booster seats perform during a crash or vehicle fit, reports Consumer Reports.
Here are five of the 19 booster seats that were given the best rating.
- Britax Parkway GS (highback mode)
- Evenflo Amp (backless)
- Ferrari Beline SP (backless)
- Graco Argos 70 Elite (highback mode)
- Harmony Transit Deluxe (backless)
