On Wednesday, Starbucks (SBUX) unveiled plans to recruit new employees from the ranks of America’s military veterans.
The popular coffee shop chain said that over the next five years it will add 10,000 new employees who are either former military service personnel or the spouses of active members of the military, Reuters notes.
Starbucks indicated that it would use specially-trained recruiting professionals to locate positions at the chain that best suit the skills of veterans and military spouses.
In addition, the Starbucks locations close to military bases will share 10 cents from every sale with charitable organizations that assist veterans.
Shares of Starbucks climbed slightly in Wednesday pre-market trading.
