T-Mobile (TMUS) is moving to clarify any confusion about its free-data offer for tablet owners.
On Thursday, the nation’s fourth-largest wireless carrier said that it would provider 200 megabytes of data usage per month for any tablet running on its network. However, an error led to the company informing some customers that they would have to pay $10 a month for the free data, the Associated Press notes.
According to T-Mobile’s chief marketing officer, that error has been fixed. The free data offer is expected to entice people to try T-Mobile’s network, with the hope that some will ultimately migrate to its mobile phone service.
The offer is available to owners of cellular-capable tablets compatible with the company’s network.
Over the summer, T-Mobile introduced subscription plans that allow customers to upgrade their mobile devices up to twice a year.
Shares of T-Mobile surged more than 2% in pre-market trading on Tuesday after announcing third-quarter subscriber growth that beat Wall Street expectations.
