VIDEO: Sesame Street’s ‘Hunger Games’ Parody Goes Viral

Sesame Street has released a video parodying[1] Lions Gate Entertainment’s (LGF[2]) upcoming film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The video has Cookie Monster taking on the role of Cookieness Evereat, a parody of the film’s main character Katniss Everdeen. In the video, Cookieness goes on an adventure to complete The Hungry Games with the help of his/her friends Pita, Finnicky, and Tick Tock Lady, reports the Daily Mail.

Being that the video is meant for kids, there are a few scenes that have educational points that teach how to recognize patterns. That doesn’t mean the video doesn’t contain some adult humor. At one point the group considers eating Pita, who is a round piece of bread, to complete a challenge. The members of the group quickly change their minds and apologize to Pita for thinking about eating him, the Daily Mail notes.

The Sesame Street Hunger Games parody, which is called The Hungry Games: Catching Fur, was posted to YouTube on Nov. 18 and already has over 1 million views. Watch the parody below.
