Stores are in for a tough Black Friday as it is projected that 2013 will be the weakest holiday season since 2009.
In anticipation for the low number of shoppers that will be spending freely, many retailers are slashing prices left and right. Walmart (WMT) is following this Black Friday trend by offering a 32-inch flat-screen TV for $98, down from $148 a year ago, according to Bloomberg.
The holiday shopping shortage will come as a result of increased disposable incomes in 2013 which makes it impossible for low-income families to shop during the holidays. In contrast, the stock market boom is expected to increase holiday sales among high-income consumers.
