Diane Disney Miller, daughter of Walt Disney, passed away in her Northern California home on Tuesday.
Miller, who was one of Walt’s inspirations for Disney (DIS) theme parks, passed away at the age of 79. Disney announced that she passed away due to complications that came about after a fall. Miller was the eldest daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney. Her younger sister, Sharon, passed away in 1993 due to cancer. Miller opened the Walt Disney Family Museum in 2009 as a way to show people that her father was more than just the man behind Disney, reports USA Today.
“She was totally devoted to the memory of her father. She obviously just worshiped him, and everything she did at the museum was to honor him, and to be sure that people knew the accurate story,” Nancy Bechtle, who recently helped Miller fined a new a new director for the Walt Disney Family Museum, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
