fresh_thyme_logo[1]Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market, a produce-focused grocery chain, plans to open 54 stores[2] in the next six years.

Chris Sherrell, Fresh Thyme’s president and CEO, says that he expects the roll out of stores to be similar to the one that Sunflower Farmer’s Market did in Southwestern states. Sherrell isn’t just being hopeful, he is a former CEO of Sunflower Farmers Market and brought many veteran workers from the company with him to Fresh Thyme. The plan is that Fresh Thyme will bring good prices and healthy food options to Midwest states, reports Supermarket News.

Fresh Thyme’s dedication to good prices and healthy food will put it in direct competition with the supermarket chain Whole Foods Market (WFM[3]).

A Fresh Thyme location that is planned to be opened[4] in Deerfield, Ill., has recently faced restrictions and limitations from city officials.
