The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce put up an ad to persuade Boeing (BA) to build the new 777X in Washington but they used the wrong picture.
The full-page ad in The Seattle Times was asking lawmakers to pass a package that would help convince the company to build the plane but they used a picture of an Airbus plane, according to Chicago Sun-Times. The newspaper’s headline said “The Future of Washington” but the Chamber made the boneheaded move of putting the wrong company on the ad.
“It’s an embarrassing, cringe-worthy error,” said Chamber spokeswoman Terri Hiroshima. Ironically enough, Boeing had a gaffe of its own yesterday when it landed one of its planes in the wrong airport.
