A trip to Disney (DIS) is the ideal family vacation for many and now it is also the permanent residence of some.
Disney World now has Golden Oak — a gated community where homeowners can live on Disney property. The Lake Buena Vista property is 980 acres of land reserved for those willing to shell out anywhere between $1.7 million and $7 million for one of the 450 homes that the company is planning on building there.
Owning a home in the fantasy wonderland comes with a number of perks including park passes, door-to-door transportation and an exclusive clubhouse with a restaurant and concierge. Many have started buying their Disney World vacation home already but there are some who have made it their permanent residence.
There are even some homes that are Disney-themed with Mickey-shaped swimming pools and hidden Mickeys located all over the house.
