On Tuesday, the iPhone-maker confirmed that it had purchased Topsy, a startup based around dissecting data from Twitter (TWTR) traffic and users. Apple did not disclose the terms of the transaction, but media sources say it paid more than $200 million for Topsy, CBS News notes.
The Topsy buy comes on the heels of last month’s acquisition of Israel-based PrimeSense, which develops motion-sensing technology. Apple is reported to have paid $350 million for PrimeSense.
Shares of Apple climbed more than 1% in Tuesday morning trading.
