3 Coolest Apple iPad Air Accessories

Looking for some last-minute gift ideas for Christmas 2013 or perhaps something for yourself?

The Apple iPad Air (AAPL[1]) remains one of the hottest commodities this season, but once you get the Air, you need to get some gear to go along with it.

We’ve tracked down the 3 coolest Apple iPad Air accessories out there.

iPad keyboards

[2]The recently released ZAGGkeys Cover is an iPad keyboard cover with great functionality. In fact there are two significant additions to the keyboard. As ZDNet touts[3], “the iPad Air slips into a special hinge on the cover that supports a wide range of viewing angles, much like a laptop. Other keyboards only offer one to three viewing angles, so this is a vast improvement for using the iPad Air with a keyboard. The keyboard base is weighted to keep the device from tipping over with the tablet pushed far back.”

Cost is at about $130.

Note that the keyboard is NOT a folio case, and does not offer much in the way of hard protection for the iPad Air. Those cases can be bought separately and we recommend you do so. There is cover, but it’s more for transport than for durability.

iPad bag

[4]The STM cache is a carrying bad for the iPad that combines functionality with class. For about $30 at eBags, they fit not only the Apple iPad Air, but also the third generation iPad and the iPad Mini. The bag makes room for your accessories, such as cables, battery, and charger.

It fits the iPad even with the snap-on back covers and Smart Covers. Smart Cover

[5]Though the original Smart Covers had metal hinges that left marks on your stuff, the newest Smart Cover version is, well, smarter.

Apple redesigned the attachment system along with the original iPad mini, with a microfiber lining that protects the screen. The toughness of the polyurethane works great for protection, and the colors are hip, fun, and pretty inclusive.
