The New York Times reports that Fox (FOX) has sold out every ad spot for Super Bowl XLVIII which will take place on Feb. 2, 2014. Demand was fairly high this year compared to recent years where companies held out for longer due to the economic recession. Executive vice president for sales at Fox Sports Neil Mulcahy simply said “the Super Bowl is done.”
Major car companies such as GM (GM), Hyundai (HYMLF) and Kia (KIMTF) paid somewhere between $4 million and $4.5 million for 30 seconds of advertising space. Anheuser-Busch (BUD), Oikos and SodaStream (SODA) are among the other companies that shelled out some serious dough to be in the Super Bowl.
