Justin Bieber made a shocking announcement on Christmas Eve telling his fans that he is officially retiring at age 19.
The pop star went to Twitter on Dec. 24 at 10:20 p.m. to announce his retirement after a rocky year that has seen him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Justin Bieber tweeted, “My beloved beliebers I’m officially retiring.” He followed up that tweet with one that addressed his reason for retiring, “The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I’m never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle.”
From the note he wrote in the Anne Frank Museum guestbook to his antics in South America, 2013 has seen Justin Bieber at the face of controversy. He finished the night with a third tweet, asking his fans to “Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER.”
Some have taken the singer’s tweets seriously but they sound like a publicity stunt meant to promote Justin Bieber’s Believe, a documentary about him that came out the next day.
