Residents of Delhi, India, can now enjoy Krispy Kreme (KKD) donuts after the chain launched its first store in the northern part of the country.

But Krispy Kreme donuts sold in India don’t feature one key ingredient found in the Krispy Kreme donuts familiar to North American consumers: eggs. In order to adapt to local tastes, KKD has gone completely vegetarian, adopting an egg-free ingredients list for Krispy Kreme donuts offered through its stores across India. KDD is also offering mango cream to appeal to local preferences, the Business-Standard notes.

The new India location partners KKD with Bedrock Food Company. Earlier this year, Krispy Kreme donuts opened five franchised shops in the south-eastern Indian city of Bangalore.

KKD joins a number of other American fast food vendors who have changed their products to attract Indian consumers, including Yum Brands (YUM) Pizza Hut, which offers vegetarian pizzas and McDonald’s (MCD) which dropped pork and beef products at its Indian restaurants.

After selling off in August, KKD stock surged in October and November, but then dropped sharply in December.

KKD stock climbed more than 1% in Monday mid-day trading.
