15 Must-Have Apps for Your New Tablet or Smartphone

There are some must-have apps like Facebook (FB[1]), Twitter (TWTR[2]), Google (GOOG[3]) and Netflix (NFLX[4]) that every phone and tablet has. As great as those are, there are at least 10 others that you should download today.
CNN came up with a list of 25 must-have apps[5][6] that don’t get as much attention as the standards ones. These include apps for Apple (AAPL[7]) smartphones and tablets as well as Android products.
Check out these 15 must-have apps.
- Dots – A game similar to Candy Crush but better. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Vine – Watch or make your own six-second videos with Vine. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Google Hangouts – A cross-platform messaging system that actually works well. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Ridiculous Fishing – A fun fishing game that is perfect for smartphone users. Available for $3 on iOS and Android.
- Snapchat – With its easy-to-send pictures and short videos, Snapchat belongs in everyone’s must-have apps list. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- WhatsApp – This international chatting app is decent and it works on most devices. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- SoundCloud – One of the best radio apps out there to listen to your favorite tunes and explore new artists. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Dropbox – A quick and easy way to share files using a cloud service. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Kindle – A much more practical and easy way to carry your books around. Available for free on iOS and Android.
- Google Search – Why not just use an internet app and its search bar? Well the Google Search is one of the must-have apps because of its advanced features including voice-recognition technology. Available for free on iPhone.
- Mailbox – A great email service. Available for free on iPhone.
- 1Weather – A great weather app. Available for free on Android.
- Car Widget – Better than your normal Android UI. Car widget app. Available for free on Android.
- Paper – This app is perfect for artists looking to draw, paint or sketch anything. Available for free on iPad.
- How to Cook Everything – This app is a great kitchen aid for beginner and advanced cooks. Available for $10 on iPad.
