Nike (NKE[1]) is releasing a new smartwatch in the first half of 2014 that is currently under trial production at Flextronics International.

DigiTimes reports that the sportswear company[2]Nike[3] is coming up with its third smartwatch as the handy gadgets grow in popularity. Nike already released the Nike+Sportwatch and the Fuelband SE in 2013 and it hopes to become the leading smartwatch seller in sports.

The company already accounts for 30% of the world’s sports gear market but its main competitor isn’t far behind. Adidas (ADDDF[4]) released the miCoach Smart Run in 2013 for $399 — $250 more than the Fuelband SE. Nevertheless, Adidas’ product supports iOS, Android and Windows whereas Nike’s product only supports iOS.
