Rite Aid Cuts Flu Shot Prices through Dec. 14

Rite Aid (RAD[1]) is cutting the price of influenza vaccinations by $5 on National Influenza Vaccination Week.

Consumers will be able to get flu shots from the pharmacy’s immunizing pharmacists for only $24.99 on December 8-14[4], according to The Wall Street Journal. Most insurance plans — including Medicare Part B — cover flu shots. The 2013-2014 vaccine will help protect against the latest strand of influenza — the H3N2 virus — as well as the H1N1 virus.

Rite Aid is making the offer in support of the National Influenza Vaccination Week which was started by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2005. The CDC recommends that everyone over six months old take a flu shot every year before the disease spreads because it takes about two weeks for the antibodies to kick in.
