Disney’s (DIS) board is getting another boost from the technology world.
The co-founder of Twitter (TWTR) and CEO of Square, Jack Dorsey, has become a member of the mouse kingdom’s board or directors. Disney CEO Bob Iger noted that Jack Dorsey would bring critical digital media experience to the company as it looks to leverage online platforms, Fortune notes.
Disney’s board also includes Facebook (FB) COO Sheryl Sandberg. Jack Dorsey replaces Cisco’s (CSCO) Judith Estrin on Disney’s board.
Jack Dorsey current venture, Square, is said to be considering a possible IPO next year. The credit card processing company is forecast to generate revenues approaching $1 billion in 2014.
Twitter, which Jack Dorsey helped launch, held its successful IPO earlier this year. TWTR stock is up more than 40% since its November debut.
Disney disclosed in regulatory filings that CEO Iger’s pay fell 7% this year compared to last.
Shares of DIS stock climbed modestly in Tuesday morning trading.
