Willie Mitchell, a worker at a Florida Walmart, was allegedly angry that he didn’t win the Walmart Employee of the Month title and shot the vehicle of the co-worker who did win it. According to The New York Daily News, Mitchell argued with the woman about her workload after she won the title. He later got in his car and after seeing that his co-worker wasn’t in her vehicle, pulled up next to it and fired one shot at it.
It’s important to note that the Walmart Employee of the Month title is just that: a title. Those who are awarded the title are not given any type of monetary bonus and no special privileges come with it.
Mitchell has since been arrested and charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle, The New York Daily News notes.
He also won’t be the next Walmart Employee of the Month, seeing that he no longer works at the store.
