Fast casual restaurants such as Chili’s (EAT) and Applebees (DIN) keep getting busier and busier which slows down their service times.
These and other fast casual restaurants are looking to speed up service times as the lines get longer and people become more impatient. Chili’s and Applebees are both implementing tabletop tablets in order to decrease service times for customers.
Although both of these restaurants have tablets that help customers pay their checks quicker, the tablets don’t give them the option of ordering. If these restaurants let consumers order food as soon as they walk in, it could decrease service times and help the restaurants squeeze in more customers.
EAT stock is up 1.2% and DIN stock is down 0.5% in early afternoon trading Thursday.
