Faulty fuel line dampers in several Ford (F) Edge SUVs have caused a massive Ford recall that affects 46,000 cars.
The carmaker said that the fuel line dampers of the 2012-13 Edge SUVs can cause fuel leaks which can lead to fires. The Ford recall affects Edge SUVs built from September 2010 through April 2013 which are equipped with 2.0L engines.
“The fuel line pulse damper metal housing may crack as a result of an improper manufacturing process,” Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. “A cracked fuel line pulse damper housing may result in a combination of fuel odor, seepage, or a continuous leak while the fuel system is pressurized.”
F stock is up close to 1.5% Wednesday.
