Tennessee police say a man was arrested with $153,000 in cash after police dogs detected the scent of drugs on the money.
Conor Guckian was taken into custody at Nashville’s airport. He had reportedly paid $20,000 to charter a flight to California, but was arrested with $153,000 in cash contained in his suitcase. He reportedly admitted to having been previously arrested for cocaine possession and sale in New York, Reuters noted.
The 33-year-old man who was arrested with $153,000 was nabbed after his use of cash to charter the flight was reported to police. A K-9 unit inspected his bags and alerted police to the scent of drugs. Police said that the money — found in 32 rubber band-bound bundles — was wrapped in a manner “consistent with that of drug proceeds.”
