Cheesecake Factory Says No to Adding Tablets to Tables

The Cheesecake Factory (CAKE[1]) will not be releasing tabletop tablets anytime soon, according to the company.

The Cheesecake Factory issued a statement on Wednesday, informing consumers that it is not planning[7] on following suit.

CEO Dave Overton said that it’s doubtful that the chain will ever do tablets. “For us, they’re coming in for a very different experience,” Overton said. “And I think they want to be waited on and served.”

He added that the Cheesecake Factory will be very careful about adding technology to its restaurants. The chain will only include technology if it can add to the guest experience without sacrificing the restaurant’s core values.

CAKE stock is up over 0.8% Friday.
