DNKN BUZZ: Dunkin’ Brands May Buy a Restaurant Franchise

"It's highly unlikely to be soon"

Dunkin’ Brands (DNKN) is considering buying a franchised restaurant company in the future.

DNKNCEO Nigel Travis said that the brand could take on another business if it’s a franchise business with growth. “We would be extra cautious in whatever we would take on and it has to fit our mantra of a great brand with franchising potential,” he said.

Dunkin’ Brands is responsible for dining chains Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins. Dunkin’ Donuts has been attracting more consumers thanks to the chain’s new menu which includes turkey sandwiches and more.

Travis said that it’s highly unlikely that his company will acquire another franchise in the near future.

DNKN stock is down 0.1% Friday.
