A pregnant New York City woman was killed when a snowplow struck her in a parking lot.
The NYC woman was struck by the snowplow –a Bobcat– while loading groceries into the trunk of her car. The woman was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. Doctors worked to save the baby and delivered it via caesarean section. The baby is in critical condition and weighs 6 pounds, 6 ounces. The husband of the woman was with her when she was hit, reports The Los Angeles Times.
One resident claims that the snowplow operator wasn’t a safe driver.
“He almost hit me and my wife yesterday as we were going across the street. The guy was a speed demon,” Marvin Lopez, a local resident of the area, told The New York Post. “I thought, that man is going to kill somebody someday. And look what happens.”
