Winter Olympics: Are Under Armour Suits Slowing Down US Speedskaters?

U.S. speedskaters have not done well in the Winter Olympics even though they’re wearing revolutionary Under Armour (UA) suits.

The company’s attire was supposed to give U.S. athletes an edge by making them faster but the suits have actually slowed down the Winter Olympics athletes. The back of the suits have a vent that’s supposed to allow heat to escape but instead it allows air to enter, thus creating drag and slowing speedskaters down.

Gold-medal favorite Shani Davis failed to win a medal and no American has finished better than seventh in any long-track speedskating event. However, Under Armour is looking to address the issue before American speedskaters face the remaining six long-track events.

UA stock is down about 2.15% Friday
