Google GlassNot everyone is a fan of Google’s (GOOG) new high-tech headgear it seems. A woman says she was assaulted in a San Francisco bar over her Google Glass headset.

Sarah Slocum took to Facebook (FB) to describe the incident. She says she was in a bar in the Haight-Asbury area, showing off her Google Glass to friends, when a man approached her and grabbed the Google Glass headset. The assailant attempted to flee with the device, but Slocum caught up with him and retrieved her Google Glass. While she was pursuing the would-be Google Glass thief someone else absconded with her purse and wallet, the San Francisco Chronicle notes.

According to Information Week, a police report about the incident has been filed with the San Francisco Police Department. A spokesperson for the department said that an investigation is ongoing and that the dispute arose due to the “suspects’ belief that the woman was taping them without consent.”

Google Glass is still under testing by early adopters who have paid $1,500 to try out the device. Google is expected to make Google Glass commercially available by the end of this year.
