Professional beauty products retailer Sally Beauty (SBH) says that hackers were able to obtain some customer credit and debit card data.
The Sally Beauty data breach was reportedly identified on Mar. 5. The company said it is cooperating with the U.S. Secret Service to investigate the Sally Beauty data breach and has hired an outside forensics firm, USA TODAY notes.
Data from fewer than 25,000 credit and debit card accounts was compromised during the Sally Beauty data breach, according to the company.
Sally Beauty operates more than 2,800 stores around the world.
Despite the news of the Sally Beauty data breach, SBH stock climbed more than 1% in Tuesday morning trading. SBH stock has declined about 3% over the past year.
