Hottest Basic Materials Stocks Now – CCC CBT GPK WIRE

Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street on Monday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 1.1%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.8% higher, the Nasdaq climbed 0.7% and the S&P 500 was up 0.8%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Calgon Carbon Corp (CCC[1]): CCC stock is up 3.7% today.

• Cabot Corp (CBT[2]): CBT stock is up 3.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK[3]): GPK stock is up 3.2% today.

• Encore Wire Corp (WIRE[4]): WIRE stock is up 3.2% today.

• Berry Plastics Group Inc (BERY[5]): BERY stock is up 3.2% today.

• Quaker Chemical Corp (KWR[6]): KWR stock is up 3.2% today.

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD[7]): SSD stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Universal Forest Products (UFPI[8]): UFPI stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Trex Company (TREX[9]): TREX stock is up 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Aptargroup (ATR[10]): ATR stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Yamana Gold (AUY[11]): AUY stock is down 2.2% today.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN[12]): BVN stock is down 2.3% today.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM[13]): NEM stock is down 2.1% today.
