On April 29, Starbucks locations in the United States and Canada will start selling the Teavana Oprah Chai Tea. This marks the first time that Winfrey has allowed her name to be put on a product that isn’t owned by her. The talk show host has had several offers from other brands in the past, but turned them all down, reports Businessweek.
The team up isn’t part of an endorsement, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t terms to the union. All the proceeds made from the team up will go to Winfrey’s foundation that helps her school in South Africa, Businessweek notes.
“Starbucks is about nurturing the human spirit,” Winfrey told USA Today. “That is my goal in life and what my brand has become.”
SBUX shares were up slightly as of Thursday morning.
