About 124,050 Toyota (TM) Avalon large sedans have an electrical issue that has caused a Toyota recall for those vehicles.
The airbags of these vehicles may deploy inadvertently due to the issue. The Toyota recall affects 2003 and 2004 model-year cars.
The company said that the issue stems from certain circuits in the airbag control module that may be damaged due to noise from other electrical components of the vehicles.
The airbags aren’t the only part of the car that could deploy inadvertently as some seatbelt pretensioners could have the same problem.
One minor injury resulted from a faulty electrical system with one of the cars but no accidents or deaths were reported.
TM stock is up about 1.25% Friday.
