US Airways, which is owned by American Airlines (AAL), had a plane skid off the runway after blowing a tire on Thursday.
The US Airways flight was leaving for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when the accident occurred. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash and the passengers were evacuated from the plane, reports The Los Angeles Times.
“We were just entering the air and the front of the plane went down and hit the runway, and then popped back up and hit it again,” Hannah Udren, a passenger of the US Airways flight, told The New York Daily News. “”People started screaming. All the lights were switching on and off.”
Following the crash of the US Airways plane, Dennis Fee, a passenger on the plane, started posting photos of the crashed plane to Twitter (TWTR). One of the photos posted has Fee taking a selfie in front of the plane, The L.A. Times notes.
