Amazon (AMZN) is looking to make amends with unhappy workers with the company’s Pay to Quit offer.
The online retailer is offering up to $5,000 to employees who are looking to leave the Amazon family. The headline for the offer is ‘Please Don’t Take This Offer.’
CEO Jeff Bezos said that the company will offer $2,000 to employees who leave on the first year of the Pay to Quit offer. After that, Amazon will ramp up the offer by a thousand dollars every year until it reaches $5,000.
“The goal is to encourage folks to take a moment and think about what they really want,” Bezos explains. “In the long-run, an employee staying somewhere they don’t want to be isn’t healthy for the employee or the company.”
AMZN stock is down over 2% Friday afternoon.
