Basic materials stocks finished up broadly 0.5% on Wall Street on Tuesday.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.7% higher, the Nasdaq climbed 1.8% and the S&P 500 was up 0.7%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Precision Castparts Corp (PCP[1]): PCP stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Polyone Corp (POL[2]): POL stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Quaker Chemical Corp (KWR[3]): KWR stock is up 2.6% today.

• Valspar Corp (VAL[4]): VAL stock is up 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Ferro Corp (FOE[5]): FOE stock is up 2.4% today.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH[6]): MEOH stock is up 2.4% today.

• Encore Wire Corp (WIRE[7]): WIRE stock is up 2.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Cf Industries Holdings (CF[8]): CF stock is up 2.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Curtiss-Wright Corp (CW[9]): CW stock is up 2.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Stepan Company (SCL[10]): SCL stock is up 1.9%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
