Biggest Movers in Basic Materials Stocks Now – SHI VALE NEM AKS

Basic materials stocks fell broadly 0.5% on Wall Street so far on Monday.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.5%, the Nasdaq fell 0.7% and the S&P 500 declined 0.5%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI[1]): SHI stock is up 2.5% today.

• Vale S.A. (VALE[2]): VALE stock is up 1.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM[3]): NEM stock is up 1.3% today.

• AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS[4]): AKS stock is up 0.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Pohang Iron & Steel Co. (PKX[5]): PKX stock is up 1.0% today.

• Compass Minerals Intl Inc (CMP[6]): CMP stock is up 1.0% today.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF[7]): CLF stock is up 0.8% today.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX[8]): CENX stock is up 1.1% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK[9]): TCK stock is up 0.9% today.

• Syngenta Ag (SYT[10]): SYT stock is up 0.8% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH[11]): TNH stock is down 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Valhi Inc (VHI[12]): VHI stock is down 2.8% to a new 52-week low of $7.97.

• Trex Company (TREX[13]): TREX stock is down 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Polypore International Inc (PPO[14]): PPO stock is down 2.5% today.

• Ferro Corp (FOE[15]): FOE stock is down 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Olin Corp (OLN[16]): OLN stock is down 2.2% today.

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS[17]): KS stock is down 2.1% today.

• Rockwood Holdings (ROC[18]): ROC stock is down 2.4% today.
