38-year-old Mohammed Farman and 35-year-old Mohammed Arif were arrested after nearby residents called the police due to a strong odor coming from their home. When police arrived, they found the severed head of an infant.

The brothers admitted to practicing cannibalism, an activity that is not prohibited by law in Pakistan. They had previously been arrested for two years between 2011 and 2013 for desecrating graves in order to fuel their cannibalism.

It is estimated that the brothers dug up over 100 graves before 2011.

The brothers are facing charges for disturbing public order as well as a charge under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
