Evenflo is issuing a massive car seat recall due to potentially faulty buckles.
The company said that up to 1,368,649 of its vehicles released from August 22, 2011 to March 3, 2014 could have defective buckles. The car seat recall applies to Evenflo convertibles released over this three-year period.
In its car seat recall statement, Evenflo added that the buckles meet the federal requirements for “crashworthiness.” However, they can falter if contaminated with everyday contaminants such as food or drink.
Evenflo is advising consumers to not return their defective products. Instead, convertible owners can get their buckle replaced for free online or by calling: 1-800-490-7591.
The move comes only two months after a massive Graco car seat recall affecting 3.7 million units.
