A stabbing spree occurred at the Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, Pa., this morning.
The Franklin Regional High School stabbings started at the beginning of the school day and 20 people were injured during the incident. Not all of the injuries came from stabbingd and some of them were minor scrapes and scratches, ABC News notes.
Four victims with serious stab wounds were airlifted to local hospitals from the Franklin Regional High School. Hospitals have reported that there are currently nine victims being treated. One of the victims is a security guard that was stabbed in the stomach, reports ABC News.
The identity of the alleged stabber hasn’t been released, but police have confirmed that it is a 16 year-old boy. One Franklin Regional High School student realized what was going on when the stabbings started and pulled the fire alarm in an effort to get people out of the school, NBC News notes.
According to the Daily Mail, many students were still on their way to school on buses and were alerted of the situation before getting to the school. The stabbing suspect was stopped by the Franklin Regional High School principal, who wrestled the stabber to the ground.
