Game of Thrones fans can rejoice as the series has been approved for two more seasons.
The news that HBO’s Game of Thrones will be getting at least six seasons came after the premiere of season four on Sunday, which had 6.6 million viewers. This is the first time that the series has ever been picked up for two additional seasons at the same time, reports the Daily Mail.
Game of Thrones was first introduced in 2011 and has been a smash hit. The series includes clan wars, fantasy and lots of death that includes major characters. The fourth season of the show will last for 10 episodes, GlobalPost notes.
George R.R. Martin is currently working on the sixth book in the Song of Fire and Ice series, which is what Game of Thrones is based on. There are currently seven books planned for the series and the fourth season of the TV show will take place near the end of the third book. This leaves Martin with plenty of time to finish the series, reports the Daily Mail.
