Hottest Basic Materials Stocks Now – NEM SIM CHMT KS

Basic materials stocks remained flat so far on Monday on Wall Street.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.2%, the Nasdaq increased 0.2% and the S&P 500 pushed 0.2% higher.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM[1]): NEM stock is up 6.3% today.

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM[2]): SIM stock is up 3.5% today.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT[3]): CHMT stock is up 2.6% today.

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS[4]): KS stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE[5]): GPRE stock is up 1.7% today.

• Watts Water Technologies (WTS[6]): WTS stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB[7]): LYB stock is up 0.9%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Packaging Corporation of America (PKG[8]): PKG stock is up 1.0% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI[9]): IPI stock is up 0.9%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM[10]): SWM stock is up 0.9%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Pohang Iron & Steel Co. (PKX[11]): PKX stock is down 2.7% today.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX[12]): CENX stock is down 2.6% today.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF[13]): CLF stock is down 2.3%, marking the eighth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• United States Steel Corp (X[14]): X stock is down 2.1% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK[15]): TCK stock is down 1.9%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Vale S.A. (VALE[16]): VALE stock is down 1.6% today.

• Hecla Mining Company (HL[17]): HL stock is down 1.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• New Gold Inc (NGD[18]): NGD stock is down 1.6% today.

• Commercial Metals Company (CMC[19]): CMC stock is down 1.6% today.

• Gerdau S.A. (GGB[20]): GGB stock is down 1.6% today.
