Basic materials stocks declined on Wall Street today, down 1.5%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.1%, the Nasdaq declined 0.9% and the S&P 500 was down 1.1%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Raven Industries (RAVN[1]): RAVN stock is up 1.3% today.

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO[2]): RIO stock is up 0.7% today.

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM[3]): SIM stock is up 0.7% today.

• Southern Peru Copper Corp (SCCO[4]): SCCO stock is up 0.6%, marking the eighth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Wd-40 Company (WDFC[5]): WDFC stock is up 0.4% today.

• Bhp Billiton Limited (BHP[6]): BHP stock is up 0.2% today.

• A. Schulman (SHLM[7]): SHLM stock is up 0.2% today.

• Steel Dynamics (STLD[8]): STLD stock is up 0.2% today.

• Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH[9]): ACH stock is up 0.1%, marking the seventh consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Celanese Corp (CE[10]): CE stock is down 3.3% today.

• Ashland Inc (ASH[11]): ASH stock is down 3.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Worthington Industries (WOR[12]): WOR stock is down 3.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT[13]): CHMT stock is down 3.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Cabot Corp (CBT[14]): CBT stock is down 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF[15]): CLF stock is down 2.9% today.

• Valspar Corp (VAL[16]): VAL stock is down 2.8% today.

• Rexnord Corp (RXN[17]): RXN stock is down 2.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD[18]): SSD stock is down 2.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• PPG Industries (PPG[19]): PPG stock is down 2.3% today.
