Basic materials stocks finished down 0.4% on Wall Street on Monday.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.3%, the Nasdaq pushed 0.3% higher and the S&P 500 was up 0.3%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD[1]): SSD stock is up 1.8% today.

• International Paper Company (IP[2]): IP stock is up 1.7% today.

• Polyone Corp (POL[3]): POL stock is up 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Weyerhaeuser Company (WY[4]): WY stock is up 1.0%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN[5]): BVN stock is up 0.9% today.

• Enpro Industries (NPO[6]): NPO stock is up 0.8% today.

• RBC Bearings Inc (ROLL[7]): ROLL stock is up 0.8% today.

• Celanese Corp (CE[8]): CE stock is up 0.7% today.

• Dover Corp (DOV[9]): DOV stock is up 0.7% today.

• Huntsman Corp (HUN[10]): HUN stock is up 0.7% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Newmarket Corp (NEU[11]): NEU stock is down 3.1%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Cabot Corp (CBT[12]): CBT stock is down 3.1%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Iamgold Corp (IAG[13]): IAG stock is down 2.8% today.

• DOW Chemical Company (DOW[14]): DOW stock is down 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Yamana Gold (AUY[15]): AUY stock is down 2.2% to a new 52-week low of $7.42.

• Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE[16]): GPRE stock is down 2.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS[17]): KS stock is down 2.1% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK[18]): TCK stock is down 2.0% today.

• New Gold Inc (NGD[19]): NGD stock is down 2.0% today.
